World Health Organization has announced
“The next World Hearing Day will be observed on 3 March 2022 with the theme ‘To hear for life, listen with care’.聽
Through this theme, WHO will focus on the importance of safe listening as a means of maintaining good hearing across the life course as recommended in the World report on hearing.聽
The key messages for WHD 2022 are:
聽 聽 聽* It is possible to have good hearing across the life course聽through ear and hearing care鈥�
聽 聽 聽* Many common causes of hearing loss can be prevented,聽including hearing loss caused by exposure to loud sounds鈥�
聽 聽 聽* 鈥楽afe listening鈥� can mitigate the risk of hearing loss associated聽with recreational sound exposure鈥�
聽 聽 聽* WHO calls upon governments, industry partners and civil聽society to raise awareness for and implement evidence-based聽standards that promote safe listening
聽The World Hearing Day 2022 will mark the launch of:
聽 聽 聽* The ‘Global standard for safe listening entertainment venues鈥� and events’
聽 聽 聽* A SafeListening聽handbook鈥�, and
聽 聽 聽* A media toolkit for journalists
聽We hope that the World Hearing Day 2022 will be a massive call to action. All sectors can demonstrate their leadership by making this year鈥檚 event the largest one the country has ever seen.”
