鈥�An exciting collaboration has seen the charity transfer its Healthy Minds听training programme, Peer-to-Peer Mentoring and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) to the Deaf health charity听听
Susan Daniels OBE, Chief Executive of the National Deaf Children鈥檚 Society, said: 鈥淲e know how vital these programmes are to support the wellbeing and confidence of deaf young people, so we鈥檙e delighted SignHealth will continue to deliver these services throughout the UK.鈥��听
鈥淲e鈥檝e handed over the materials we have developed for the programmes as well as our wealth of knowledge and experience so all our staff鈥檚 hard work and expertise can help SignHealth continue to support deaf young people.鈥濃���听
The Healthy Minds training programme supports professionals who work with deaf children and young people. It provides them with creative ideas to help them support the emotional health and well-being of deaf children and young people.鈥���听
The Peer-to-Peer Mentoring service helps connect deaf young people with a deaf mentor. The Youth Advisory Board has offered opportunities for young people to meet other deaf young people, learn new skills and campaign for change.鈥���听
The National Deaf Children鈥檚 Society transferred the programmes so that it can focus on delivering its new strategy, which is centred around reaching and supporting deaf children in their early years. It still offers a wide range of high-quality information and online support for deaf young people.鈥��
Ms Daniels continued: 鈥淲e believe these programmes will now be delivered well by SignHealth, a deaf health charity which has the expertise to deliver services which builds deaf young people鈥檚 advocacy skills and develops their wellbeing.鈥濃���听
