“Alex heads to national awards final
She鈥檚 a winner! Alex, who joined the Deaf Academy鈥檚 residential care team last November, has won the regional final for care newcomer of the year at the British Care Awards.
Alex, who is profoundly deaf, now goes forward to the national final of the awards, which take place in March 2024.
The award is designed to acknowledge and celebrate a new member of staff who commenced and remained in employment in the care sector within the previous 12 months.
Alex joined the Exmouth-based Deaf Academy鈥檚 residential care provision in November 2022 alongside Otto, her Hearing Dog for the Deaf.
